Willy Caballero’s first appearance for his country in his homeland ended in a comfortable 4-0 victory against Haiti.

The goalkeeper made his Argentina debut in March in a defeat to Spain and looks set to be their no.1 at the World Cup after an injury to regular first choice Sergio Romero.

In Buenos Aires early this morning (Wednesday) they made light work of Haiti withLionel Messi netting a hat-trick and setting up a fourth for Sergio Aguero. Despite a troublesome qualifying campaign, Argentina still possess the firepower up front to cause any team problems, and Caballero will be tasked with building a solid foundation from the back.

They now travel to Barcelona to continue their World Cup preparations ahead of another friendly, against Israel, and then group games against Iceland, Croatia and Nigeria in Russia.
